"Unbroken" Wins First Place at Metro Montage XV

"Unbroken"

We had a wonderful surprise earlier this month at the opening reception of Metro Montage XV. "Unbroken" had been awarded first place!

Juror's statement:
"I was attracted to the brushwork and depth evident in Unbroken. The color, light and perceived depth adds to a sense of motion and action that helps to complete the composition. I enjoy how the aggressiveness of the figure draws me in and urges me to complete an open-ended narrative."

Metro Montage is an annual juried exhibition held by the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art showcasing artists of the Atlanta and north Georgia areas.

This year's exhibition was juried by Robmat Butler, Preparator and Exhibitions Manager at the Knoxville Museum of Art. We're told there were over 700 entries this year, resulting in an exhibition of 79 paintings, drawings, and sculptures. The exhibition will remain in place until September 6.
