New Works: "A Belle Meade Morning"

This is one of the paintings Charles did when we were in Nashville this past October for the opening reception of the Oil Painters of America's Eastern Regional Exhibition. The day after the reception many of the attending artists met at Belle Meade Plantation for an OPA sponsored paint-out. (Read our earlier post about the weekend here.)

This was Charles' first painting that day, with the morning sun coming up behind the main house and lighting up the season's first bright spots of fall foliage. (12 x 16, oil on panel, 2008)

In the Binders Spotlight

Binders Art Supply in Atlanta just recently started their own blog in order to supplement their already chock-full website with fun, interesting and valuable information about their products, people and services.

Today's post puts Charles in the limelight!

The Binders staff asked him to write up a statement about his classes and his teaching style. Click over to their blog to read it and let us know what you think.

Charles has held his painting classes at Binders for almost two years now. You'll find him there just about every Tuesday.

Mark your calendars!

In just three short weeks Charles will begin his upcoming in-depth oil painting workshop in Blairsville, Georgia.

We will have five full days of work and instruction in the beautiful North Georgia mountains, graciously hosted by the Carriage House Art Center and very conveniently located just two hours north of Atlanta.

Make your plans soon to attend this wonderful extended learning opportunity.

For ease of printing, a PDF version of the flyer is available.

More complete information can be found in our previous post about the workshop, located here.
