Academic Artists Association National Exhibition

We got a call Friday morning of last week letting us know that "The Red Cup" had been awarded the Arts Unlimited Award of Excellence at the Academic Artists Association's 58th National Exhibition of Contemporary Realism in Art.

Needless to say, we were thrilled! The lovely woman who called us described the exhibition as "exquisite" - its a shame we can't be at the opening reception.

The Academic Artists Association is based in Massachusetts and dedicates itself to works of classic media in a representational manner. Their 58th national exhibition will hang from April 4 to May 16, 2008, with the opening reception on Sunday, April 13, at the Karen Sprague Cultural Arts Center on the campus of American International College in Springfield, Mass. If you happen to be in the area, why don't you stop in and have a look.

The awards jurors this year were Robert K. Carsten, signature member of the Pastel Society of America, and Robert J. O'Brien, signature member of both the American Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society.
